Afternoon Tea with Our Community

We recently invited residents from our sister home to Bay Court Care Home in Largs for a special afternoon tea. Our visitors from Hutton Park were welcomed with open arms and the room was filled with smiles, laughter and cheerful conversation.
This was a fantastic opportunity for residents from both homes to exchange stories, chat and enjoy each other's company. As always, our favourite part of this truly memorable event was sharing a joyful sing-along together with live entertainment.
Events like this afternoon tea have many mental and physical benefits for care home residents. As well as the physical activity gained from dancing to our favourite music, the opportunity to visit a sister care home offers a safe change of environment.
Social interaction plays a key role in improving mental wellbeing, especially in later life. Engaging with new people in and outside of the home can help combat loneliness and reduce the risk of anxiety and depression. Regular social activity has even been shown to enhance memory and prevent mental decline.
Thank you to the residents and staff from Hutton Park for visiting us!
Our dedicated activities coordinator at Bay Court Care Home works hard to provide therapeutic activities for all our residents to enjoy. If you'd like to stay up to date with all the latest news and events, give us a follow on social media or keep an eye on our website.
